The Therapeutic Relationship
I was born and raised in New York, and attended NYU to earn Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Sociology and a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a service provider at a psychiatric in-patient hospital, a rehabilitation specialist for children and adolescents, a yoga and breathwork teacher in Colombia, and a drummer and vocalist in a rock band.
Outside of work, I feel most like myself when I am creating art or moving freely–acrylic painting, making music, writing poetry, attending dance classes, or spending time outdoors. Some of the artwork on this website are paintings I have created in the past year. I also deeply value spending quality time with friends and loved ones.
In most areas of my life, I feel called to connect with others and to incorporate a balance of creative expression and analytical thinking. In this sense, practicing therapy is in line with my past career experiences and the art forms I love.
What Informs My Perspective
Studies have shown that the largest indicator of “success” in therapy comes down to the perceived strength of the relationship between therapist and client.
I appreciate that every person makes sense of their lived experience in a different way, and I will work with you to find a flow in our sessions that feels comfortable for you specifically. At the same time, I intentionally trained in research-supported therapies that I trust. I sought out approaches to therapy that offer practical frameworks focused on building real skills and enacting meaningful change in a person’s life. Structure gives our work direction, but it does not replace the flexibility and human connection that shape the work around you.
My background in movement, yoga, breathwork, meditation, and mindfulness also informs my understanding of the connection between the mind and body, or the emotions and nervous system.

Holding Hope
Sometimes all we can do is show up.
“Do it scared” is a motto I live by to not let uncertainty or fear of failure get in the way. I know what it feels like to think nothing will help or change the situation you’re in, and I also know what it’s like to “do it scared,” to keep going, and to come out on the other side.
If this is where you’re at in your journey, I can hold the hope for now - the hope that things will get better.
